What is spiritual wellness?

While there are some commonalities, the spiritual wellness pillar will look different for everyone as it’s so personal. The degree to which it features in an individual’s life also varies depending on how they define it, and it can evolve and fluctuate over time. In general, spiritual wellness is your sense of purpose or direction by which you develop the values that you live your life by. Many nurture their spirituality through meditation, prayer, or other methods that they feel help to build a stronger connection to nature or a higher power.

Meditate

for a few minutes each day to help focus your thoughts.

Dedicate time to yourself.

This only needs to be a small amount of time each day, but by making this time a priority, and ensuring you are free of distractions, interruptions, and major activities, it can leave you with some valuable moments to relax, reflect, meditate, or pray.

Keep a journal.

Regular writing can help clear your mind and keep you on track for any goals you may have set for yourself.

Select your top three values in life and write them down.

Holding these values close will help guide your everyday decisions and help make it easier to say “yes” to things that matter, and “no” to things that fall outside of your values.

Practice mindfulness
