Caring Altogether on Romney Marsh (CARM)

Caring Altogether On Romney Marsh (Carm)
Pillars Of Wellness:
Description:

CARM supports older, socially-isolated people across Romney Marsh and Tenterden areas. Through this support, we aim to improve people’s well-being, to help people remain independent for longer. CARING Altogether On Romney Marsh a registered charity (No: 1184552) was founded in 1987; it arose out of the desire of local Christian Churches to show love and compassion to those in need.
CARM is a collaboration between health, social services, and churches to meet the needs of local people through Care in the Community

Over the years, CARM has evolved considerably, but remains true to its founding principles. This means that CARM is committed to serving those people living within our geographical boundaries who are lonely or socially isolated because of old age, physical or mental disability, bereavement or being a carer, regardless of their protected characteristics or beliefs.

Everybody who has contact with CARM must be treated as an individual and with respect and dignity. CARM’s ethos provides the foundation of our service to people who are lonely and socially isolated. Any person holding office within CARM must be sympathetic with these values.

Meeting Points formerly known as ‘Drop In’ is the oldest of our services, followed by the face-to-face Befriending service. Reminiscence service was established in 2006.
